Andy, Damon and I hosted another great podcast episode on the After Hours Marketing podcast, which might possibly be the best podcast out there..
The topic we discussed on the show was about some of our favorite digital marketing tools that we use right now and why we just keep using them time and time again in our toolbox. We first start off with Damon, who says he loves to use Semrush and can not live without it.
You can actually check out Semrush’s whole platform for free, but Damon pays about $150 a month for the agency version so he can run branded reports on it. Damon uses Semrush to pull a quick analysis on his client’s target market and see where his client are ranking in just a glance. It’s great for prospective clients too, because you can pull data and show them what’s happening in an area that you don’t really know that much about right off the bat.
I talk about my favorite tool on the show and that’sGoogle Tag Manager. I feel like Google Tag Manager is a bit underrated because it does take a bit of learning curve to understand how to effectively use the program, but once you do..Wow. It’s a game changer. If you want to do x things around remarketing or retargeting your campaign and you also want to integrated it with others sites beyond Google Analytics and Google Adwords like Clickstreamr, LinkedIn, Facebook, then you can do just that with Google Tag Manager. I’m personally still trying to learn the works with Google Tag, but so far I’ve been deeply impressed.
Andy’s favorite tool is a little more generic, he says that he personally loves ‘a tool that gives the ability to schedule social media posts ahead of time’. Andy used Hootsuite for a long time, but switched to Tweetdeck. He also uses Buffer from time to time as well. Andy just loves being able to manage several different company profiles from his dashboard at a distance. Each platform is still incredibly easy to use, the only thing you really need to know is when it’s a good time to post and why based on the audience you’re targeting.
Towards the end of the podcast we do get into Canva, Snapchat, and even Gary Vaynerchuk, but you’ll have to tune in to the show to get more of those secret details!
